Updating your child”s room can be very easy and fairly effortless. Just like when you want to update your wardrobe you update your accessories by adding interesting jewelry, some funky new shoes or a classic scarf, changing the decor in your child”s room can also be that simple. There are many ways to accomplish this goal and changing the curtains in your child’s room is one fantastic option. Today there are so many styles and themes to choose from. You can go with fun patterns and characters or choose a simple, more classic curtain to make a statement in your babys nursery, kids playroom or child’s bedroom. Take a moment and stand in the doorway of the room and envision how different (better?) it would look with a window ‘make over”. With endless styles and options available the task can be easy and fairly effortless. And be creative! No longer are you tied to the option of a traditional curtain. Consider using just valances, shades and sheers, curtains with sheers or using playing up certain colors in your child’s bedding to add a punch of color to the wall. And don’t forget about the rod and adding interesting finials for added character and pizazz!
Cuddles Kids Bedding Boutique has many wonderful styles of kids curtains available, both ready made and custom made to suit all types of decor. You can stop by http://www.cuddleskidsbedding.com/witr.com or call us at 877-782-8251 and one of design specialist will be so happy to assist you!

So there you are, out with the kids at Target hoping you can get through all of your errands without anyone having to use the public restroom. But sure enough, your 4 year old says, “Mom, I need to poop”. You cringe, your stomach turns, you try to bargain with him to “just hold it in till we get home” but you know he can’t hold it in and a trip to the public toilet is inevitable. If you’re a mom (or dad) like me, when this situation occurs you become an instant “germaphob”. In the past, when my son would need to poop in public, we would make the “slow” journey to the restroom stall and “the process” would begin. I would attempt to pull out 2-3 toilet seat liners to cover all possible areas of the public toilet and then get two good handfuls of toilet paper so that he could hold the seat with his hands protected from touching that nasty toilet seat. It never works out this way. Usually, the seat liners would slip slowly and cleverly into the toilet bowl, which meant having to pull another one. In the meantime, my 4 year old is in near tears, about to have an accident. Oh and by the way, I should mention that I am also holding a 1 year old! Please tell me that there are other moms out there that have experienced this nonsense! I feel a little embarassed sharing this “neurosis” of mine, but I do it to make a point. Recently, I attended the ABC Baby and Child Trade Show in Las Vegas where attendees got to see some of the best and newest products soon to hit the market in the baby and child retail industry. It was here that I met a wonderful couple who are the owners and inventors of a product called The Potty Cover. The Potty Cover is a “Dream Come True”. The Potty Cover is a disposable toilet seat cover for children that covers the sides and the front of the toilet seat to keep away gerns and wetness. It is made of a soft non-woven fabric on top, coated with a layer of plastic on the bottom, thereby creating a waterproof barrier between the toilet and the child. Genius!!! Each Potty Cover is individually packaged in a small easy to carry bag for us on the go parents! I really love the extra long front flap that keeps your child’s legs and clothes from touching the front of the toilet. And the side flaps cover the sides of the toilet where kids hold on to maintain their balance, keeping their hands away from any of those nasty germs. I love products made by parents who know what we parents need on a daily basis. So now, armed with several of these Potty Covers in my purse, I no longer have “public poop worries” and can enjoy shopping worry free with the kids. At least not where using the restroom is concerned!

You can find these wonderful Potty Covers at Amazon.com or check them out at PottyCover.com. Reasonably priced at about $5.99 for a package of 6 and a wonderful way to keep your kids healthy in public!

What would you do? Its a late, rainy, cold evening. You are late for dinner and you have to run to the store with your tired and hungry kids (ages 1 and 4). While at the store, you notice the 1 yr old has kicked off one of her shoes. You retrieve the shoe and throw it in the back of the shopping cart. So, of course, its now later than you planned, both kids are getting cranky and you begin to hand feed both kids fish crackers (you took off the aisle) to keep them quiet while you check out. You finish your shopping, unload the cart and are driving halfway home when you notice that the one year old only has one of her shoes. What do you do? Do you turn around and go back to the store to retrieve the shoe that you now remember is in the back of the shopping cart? Kids are more fussy, because the fish crackers wore off and you STILL have to cook. Or do you just go home, forget the shoe and chalk the whole experience up to “mama drama”?

**Disclaimer: This shoe that was lost happens to be the most adorable pink Converse Tennis Shoe that was purchased on impulse for $35.00 while “passing” through Nordstroms last summer during their Half-Yearly Sale. Oh and by the way, the husband (the accountant) doesn’t know that these adorable, impulse-buy pink, infant Converse cost $35.00 and there is NO WAY I could justify buying another pair!!!

Chalkals

It is fun and sometimes challenging to watch your baby grow into their own person especially when it comes to making personal choices such as their clothing, friends and decrating their own room. Having a room with walls plastered with music and movie star posters, (for some parents) is not a great idea of wall decor for their teens bedroom. Having fun and modern choices of tween and teen wall decor is a win-win for both parent and child. Offer your child the opportunity to choose fun wall decor options with you and make it a “bonding activity” you both can enjoy.

Mirror Butterfly

One fun option for wall decor are mirrored appliques in shapes such as flowers, butterflys or hearts. These fun and adorable wall appliques allow your child to place the mirrors anywhere she’d love to catch a glimpse of herself. The fun shapes allow for her to express herself and her personality. A fun example would be to place several butterfly mirror appliques over her bed in a variety of sizes.

Chalkal Skaters

Chalkals are another fun way for tween and teens to decorate their room with the freedom of self expression. Decorative, cut-out chalk board designs can easily be placed throughout their room and serve as a unique place for reminders of homework, practice or a place for parents to add positive affirmations to lift ones spirits. Available in a number of styles for both boys and girls, our chalkals can easily be applied and removed to be placed in different locations in their room. Choose a design that fits the theme of your child’s room or highlights their personality. Either way, they will love them and love using them!

Pocket Wall Decals

Pocket Wall Dot Peel and Stick Appliques are both unique and functional. These handy decals, available in bright colors and many shapes and sizes offer punches of color and function as many of the dots have pocket slits to hold anything from a favorite photo, movie tickets to a music cd. A great way to help little ones remember important items or hold special awards or momentos in a safe place. These adorable pocket wall decals come in ample sizes and quantity so there are plenty to share even with siblings.

We have offered just a sampling of the fun, functional and unique wall decor options for tweens and teens designed to honor their personality yet still simple enough to honor their youth. Have fun exploring the many options with your child and decorating their room in a fun and special way!
