So to launch this months Interactive Discussion Forum, I was inspired by my 20 month old son. The other day, I am watching him play and notice through his babbling that he is able to link 2 or 3 words together in his speech. I immediately thought (while holding back tears of pride and joy)…that at 20 months, this is my favorite stage of his development. But then it occurred to me, that I thought the very same thing last month and the month before!! Certainly his first year of life was exciting, but observing the developing curiosity, awareness and learning that occur in toddlerhood is wonderful.
